Low Calorie Blueberry

Introducing the Low Calorie Blueberry: Your Diet Superfood

The low calorie blueberry is extremely virtuous, but tastes sinful.

Which is nice.

There are only 80 calories in a cup of blueberries. So if you're trying to lose weight or just maintain optimal health, these superfruits are very good news indeed.

By now most of us know that blueberries (especially wild blueberries) are nutritional blockbusters. They fight diseases like cancer and heart disease, keep you young and actively promote good health. They are also very low in fat (containing zero saturated fat) and sodium, have no cholesterol and are a good source of fibre (about 2 grams of fibre in a half cup serving - the same as a slice of wholewheat bread).

Eat them fresh with a bit of skim milk, with low fat yoghurt, in smoothies, sprinkled on porridge or cereal.

The only limit is your imagination.

Of course if the "low calorie" portion of your diet consists of pie, pie... and more pie, you'll probably have a wee bit of trouble losing weight.

But who said life was fair?

Have some berries. You'll feel better.
